How to join WoTHabs

We are a friendly, informal group which meets every few months to plan events, to discuss progress, and exchange news and ideas. Our members are wide-ranging in their abilities and backgrounds but we share an enthusiasm for our wonderful local environment. We have a permanent Secretary and Treasurer but we 'rotate' the task of Chairperson. Our AGM is held in March.

Membership is FREE - you are very welcome to come along to one of our meetings or, if you prefer, just let us know if you would like to get involved in some particular aspect of our work. Please note that you do not need to live in Whitchurch to join.

You could be a great help just by collecting and recording information in your own back garden about, say, birds, amphibians or butterflies, and we will collate the results. For butterflies, we send our annual sightings records to The Butterfly Conservation Survey, Upper Thames Branch. Please email one of our members (see Contacts) for more details. If you would like to do surveying of flora in the Whitchurch area, we would love to hear from you. Training and support can be provided - don't think you have to be an expert!

There is always practical work to be done - look at our Working Parties page to see what we are doing at the moment.

Finally, WoTHabs organises various events for the public during the year, particularly the Cowslip Open Day at Chalkhills and Wildlife Explorers for families. Help with these is always very welcome indeed.

We hope to hear from you - if you value the wonderful environment around us in Whitchurch, why not do something to help us protect it?
