**FORTHCOMING EVENT FOR 2011**
HARTSLOCK NATURE RESERVE via THAMES PATH
Sunday 21st August – 3 miles / 2-3 hrs
Whitchurch-on-Thames, OXON – Start: 10:30am
A one-way walk along the Thames Path, with Martin from WoTHabs (Whitchurch-on-Thames Habitat Study Group) from Whitchurch to Goring, arriving in time for lunch (bring your own or buy in Goring). With time to stand and stare at wild flowers along the way, this is a walk for all the family (and well-behaved dogs), including a visit to the BBOWT reserve at Hartslock. This reserve is a beautiful south facing, unimproved chalk downland hill with stunning views over the river Thames and the Goring Gap. It is home to a very wide variety of plants and animals, some of which are extremely rare. For this reason it has been designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest.
Meet on the High Street, Whitchurch, opposite The Greyhound public house at 10.30am.  Return independently on foot or by train from Goring to Pangbourne station (1/2 mile from start).
