Whitchurch Parish

Whitchurch-on-Thames is a picturesque South Oxfordshire village with a population of about 761, lying within the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Most of the village is designated as a Conservation Area. It is bounded to the south by the River Thames and the Chiltern Hills rise up to the north.
Because of its unique location, there is an interesting combination of different habitats within the 1320 acres of the parish - ancient woodland, chalk downland, river and unimproved meadows, parkland and the village itself with its historic houses and bridge. Did you know that Whitchurch has six County Wildlife Sites (also known as Local Wildlife Sites) – this is impressive because the average across Oxfordshire is just over one!! These six sites themselves reflect the full range of habitats within the parish. If you are interested in knowing more about these particular sites, please contact us.
