Voluntary Sector Engages with Emerging Health Structures 20 March 2012

OCVA held an event on 20th March 2012 bringing together some 83 people from across the health sector and voluntary sector in Oxfordshire to explore how best the voluntary sector can participate in the current emerging health structures. The event included key note speeches from:

Dr Jonathan McWilliam, Director of Public Health for Oxfordshire County Council

Dr Peter von Eichstorff, Oxfordshire Clinical Commissioning Group

There were also presentations from the voluntary sector on:

Acquired Brain Injury- Jamie Miller, Headway
Children and Young People- Meryl Smith
Homelessness- Lesley Dewhurst, Oxhop
The Elderly- Paul Cann, Age UK


OCVA has published a report, which will contribute to a national report compiled by NAVCA. You can read the report here.

OCVA is also following up on discussions with Oxfordshire County Council's public health team to take forward actions in response to some of the messages received on the day.
