Promoting good mental health for service personnel, veterans and their families: A seminar on what is needed in Oxfordshire?

Following on from the various developments nationally and the government covenant for veterans of the armed forces, we would like to invite you to the above event on Thursday 1st December from 9.30 – 3.30pm with lunch provided.

This event will be looking at the way forward for Oxfordshire, and contributions would be most valued.

NHS: Equality Matters, Have your Say

Have your say on what you think should be the priorities for actions over the coming years in terms of promoting equality in the NHS. This interactive consultation is a chance for NHS organisations in Oxfordshire to share how their duties will change as a result of the New Equality Act 2010. The framework whcih will be used to meet these duties will be presented, and there will be a chance for the voluntary sector to discuss issues with NHS representatives.

This is a FREE event. (Lunch will be provided).

Engaging with the New Health Structures

A chance to get to grips with the new health structures in Oxfordshire. The event will be chaired by Helen Baker, Chair of Trustees for OCVA, who has experience in sitting on a Department of Health board for the voluntary and community sector which has covered the new commissioning environment. There will also be presentations on the role of the new Health & Wellbeing Board and Public Health, which will now sit within the County Council. You will also have an opportunity for round table discussions and a chance to ask questions.

Discussion Topic: Proving the value of your volunteers with Lindsay Watts, Volunteer Centre Manager Oxfordshire.

 

This session aims to provide some practical tips and tools which organisations can use to measure the impact and value volunteers have on the work they do. This type of evidence helps with funding applications and to show the wider impact and value of your volunteers to stakeholders.

Counselling skills for non counsellors

A knowledge of counselling skills can be extremely helpful in our daily lives.

This three day course is accredited by the Open College Network and is run by Relate trainer, who is also an experienced and qualified counsellor.

 

Successful completion of the course leads to a Certificate of Award in Counselling Skills for non Counsellors issued by the Open College Network with Credit at Levels 2 or 3.

This course is run on three consecutives Friday's 11, 18 and 25 November.
