NHS Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Cluster wants to talk to patients and local people about proposals to stop prescribing gluten-free food products for people with coeliac disease. Oxfordshire Clinical Commissioning Group proposes to save £350,000 by no longer funding prescriptions for gluten free products for people with coeliac disease.

Oxfordshire County Council is inviting expressions of interest from organisations that can deliver a major Reading Campaign across the County in order to: substantially improve reading standards as measured at level 2b+ in Key Stage 1 tests; Contribute to wider improvements in education outcomes; Raise the aspirations of children and families; Foster a culture of reading and a love of books; Engage the whole community in the pursuit of high standards of literacy.
The programme will focus on children in Year 2 across Oxfordshire and run from April 2012 to July 2014.

Oxfam GB will be making a fund of £20,000 available to support local groups and charities fighting poverty within the city of Oxford. The fund has been created in recognition of Oxfam GB’s responsibility as a local employer to support anti-poverty work in the city where it was founded and is still based.
Interested groups or charities should be working in Oxford in at least one of the following areas: livelihoods, including support on benefits advice and workers’ rights, asylum, right to be heard, gender equality or race equality, or climate change.

The Social Action Fund is a grant fund of over £20 million, managed by The Social Investment Business on behalf of the Office for Civil Society. The Fund's second window will close at noon 3 February 2012.
The Fund aims to inspire organisations to create new social action opportunities through people giving what they have, be that their time, their money, or their assets, knowledge and skills.

The Big Lottery currently funds a lot of the support the OCVA development team provides free to groups in Oxfordshire. They are consulting on a different model in future where they would fund groups to buy in the services they need from a range of providers. The Funding Network Oxford is calling for projects for their 2012 event to raise money for social change projects. There are strict guidelines involved and each project needs a sponsor - these details can be downloaded by clicking here. The deadline is 14 February. Shortlisted organisations will have to pitch their plans for any money raised in front of an audience at the event on 26 April 2012 at the North Wall Arts Centre.
