Oxfordshire dementia charity wins European award - 24 January 2012
Oxfordshire-based charity YoungDementia UK (YDUK) has won a prestigious European award for its work on breaking down barriers in communities for people with young onset dementia. YDUK was the only UK winner amongst nine other projects to pick up the European Foundations' Initiative on Dementia 2012 Award, 'Living well with dementia in the community', at a ceremony in Brussels last week. Help Oxford’s homeless this Christmas - 8 December 2011
An Oxford-based charity is calling for the community to spare a thought for the homeless this Christmas. The Gatehouse is appealing for donations of essential items to fill 200 Christmas parcels, which will be wrapped by a team of volunteers and handed out to men and women living on the city streets or in poor conditions.
