OCVA Membership 2012-13


Full Membership

Membership of OCVA is open to individuals and non-profit making organisations operating in Oxfordshire. Benefits include:

  • Free web space, online calendar of events and other facilities using our community web portal, Oxnet

  • Free assistance with funding research

  • Free and reduced rate training courses. Topics include: Training for Treasurers, Finding and Keeping Volunteers, and Responsibilities of Management Committees

  • Free advertising for volunteer-involving organisations

  • Free information and advice for new voluntary group start ups and development of existing groups

  • Free monthly email newsletter containing local, regional and national news for the voluntary sector

  • Members are encouraged to contribute material or an article for the monthly mailing

  • Free Use of OCVA Resource Centre and assistance from OCVA staff in looking for relevant material

  • Use of OCVA meeting room at a reduced rate (subject to availability)

  • Voting and nomination rights at OCVA’s Annual General Meeting

Associate Membership

Available to statutory, commercial or academic organisations. Associate members have use of the OCVA Resource Centre and receive a monthly newsletter. There will be a charge for insertions in the newsletter. OCVA meeting room hire and training will be at the full rate.

Membership Rates

The membership year runs from 1 April to 31 March and there is no reduced rate for joining after 1 April. However, members joining after 1 January will receive up to three months free membership, taking their membership through to 31 March of the following year.  

  • Voluntary/Community Organisation (VCO) with an income of less than £5,000 a year: FREE!

  • VCO with an income of £5,000 to £250,000 a year and individual members: £25

  • VCO with an income of more than £250,000 a year and commercial/statutory/academic associate members: £75

Applications are approved at the OCVA Trustees’ meeting six times a year. Benefits will be applied to applicants on a temporary basis while awaiting formal approval.

Data Protection

The vast majority of our members choose to be listed in the Oxnet directory of voluntary and community groups. Oxnet (www.oxnet.org.uk) is our community web portal that you can use to promote your organisation and the services that you provide. We would like to add your organisation’s details to the directory so please clearly indicate your data sharing preferences before submitting the membership form.
