The Volunteer Centre and Oxford City Council have teamed up with some fantastic partners to create a volunteering and funding event to be held in Oxford’s Town Hall.

The event is being held on Tuesday 23 February from 2pm –6pm

The aim of the event is to provide a forum for all partners with a vested interest in volunteering or funding to meet and showcase their work and requirements.

Community groups and charitable organisations will be able to showcase their work and appeal for help with resources for both volunteers and funding.

Students will also be able to attend and find out more about volunteering opportunities which could help develop their professional experience alongside their academic studies.

Funders will also have the opportunity to not only meet groups and organisations that they may be interested in supporting, but also meet volunteers that could be helping deliver the projects that their funding provides.

Over 40 groups are taking part in the fair so far which is being officially opened by The Lord Mayor of Oxford, Councillor Mary Clarkson.

Lindsay Watts, OCVA’s Volunteer Centre Manager, adds: “One of OCVA’s main objectives is to support the voluntary sector and build partnerships- this event helps to allow groups to promote their volunteering opportunities, as well as highlighting the importance of the voluntary & community sector in Oxford.

“We have over 200 community and charitable organisations on our database, all looking for volunteers. By volunteering, students and members of the public can give up a little time and make a huge difference.”

There are still opportunities for your organisation to get involved. For more information, or to book a free stand, please contact Kaylee McEntaggart, Communities and Neighbourhoods Support Officer on 01865 252791 or at kmcentaggart@oxford.gov.uk
