Volunteer Police Officer (Special Constable) Information Evening

25/02/2009 19:00

7pm Holiday Inn, Peartree, Oxford

Thames Valley Police is recruiting confident level-headed people to join the Force as Special Constables and give some of their time each month to help police their local communities.

Special Constables are volunteer Police Officers who have the same powers, uniform and equipment, duties and responsibilities as regular police officers, including the power of arrest.

They work alongside regular officers and PCSOs in local neighbourhoods and must be reliable, honest, calm, and able to communicate well with all communities.

People become Special Constables for a variety of reasons: to give something back to the community, to gain life skills and experience, or as a stepping stone to becoming a full-time officer.
