PARTICIPANTS
This introductory level training session is intended for members of the management committee or board of trustees and staff of charities and other voluntary organisations and community groups. It will also be of interest to people setting up a voluntary organisation or considering joining a management committee/board.

THE TRAINER
Sandy Adirondack has been a freelance trainer and consultant in the voluntary sector since 1980, working primarily on governance and legal issues with community-based and user-based organisations. She is editor and a co-author of The Russell-Cooke Voluntary Sector Legal Handbook (Directory of Social Change, 3rd ed September 2009), and author of Just About Managing? Effective management for voluntary organisations and community groups (London Voluntary Service Council, 4th ed 2005), and has written, edited or contributed to many other books on voluntary sector governance, law and management.
