Case study – challenges for charities in a competitive environment

David Strudley CBE, is the CEO of Acorns Children's Hospice. Starting out in the army where he progressed to the ranks of Brigadier, David has a MA in Business Studies and a Certificate in coaching and mentoring for leadership development. He has worked in education, the police and the children’s hospice movement, most recently since November 2007 as Chief Executive of Acorns Hospice.

In June 2008 Acorns became the first charity to be the main focus on the front of a Premier League Football club shirt instead of them endorsing a commercial sponsor.  During his talk David will touch on this and discuss other challenges he faces in a difficult economic and highly competitive environment whilst leading this vital West Midlands charity into an exciting and challenging future.
