Improving Support for Campaigning and Advocacy in the South East

The purpose of this event is to improve support for campaigning and advocacy by Voluntary/ Community Organisations (VCOs) in the South East.
This one-day roadshow for VCOs, umbrella bodies and community organisations is to strengthen support for advocacy, campaigning, active citizenship, empowerment and voice as part of a NCVO/Capacitybuilders' programme for Improving Support. Delegates will:
- Hear from Fiona McTaggart, MP for Slough;
- Take part in lively and informative discussions;
- Receive tools and training for advocacy, campaigning and lobbying;
- Access key organisations;
- Have an opportunity to network with other campaigning organisations;
- Gain insight into local, regional and national decision-making processes;
- Receive resources and information.
The event is one of nine events being held in each region of England, in partnership with a wide range of organisations in each region to make it a joint event.
The event will give an overview of why campaigning matters, how to campaign and the resources available, together with practical workshops on different aspects of campaigning, empowerment and voice.
