Debate on Poverty and Social Exclusion in Oxfordshire
BBC Oxford are hosting a debate on poverty and social exclusion in Oxfordshire at the Oxford Town Hall. The debate will be chaired by BBC Oxford drive time presenter Bill Heine. The Director General of the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) will be attending along with other DWP staff. The debate will be recorded and broadcast either in full or highlights of the debate.
The debate will discuss four key themes:
- Child poverty
- Working age poverty / social exclusion
- Severe, multiple deprivation and those who are most at risk of social exclusion
- Older people and poverty / social exclusion
On the day they aim to highlight the main problem areas concerning deprivation, share good practice and identify changes that need to be made. The debate will be interactive and open to an audience for opinions and questions.
