‘Reaching out to Everybody’.
The Oxfordshire Stronger Communities Alliance (OSCA) together with the Oxfordshire Partnership would like to invite you to a free event at The Kings Centre in Oxford on Monday 9th November 2009. This event is an opportunity to share experiences, skills and good practice with others and to learn more about developments in the voluntary sector at a county level. The theme for this year is ‘Reaching out to Everybody’. Do you feel your service is accessible to everyone, or could you reach out to more members of your community?
Of particular interest will be the information given on the Transforming Adult Social Care agenda, which will have a big impact on voluntary sector groups in the near future. Are you aware of the changes in the way that Adult Social Care will be organised in the future and the effect this might have on your organisation?
This year we want to make the Forum more interactive, so are introducing a ‘World Café’ format. We hope you will enjoy the experience of this inclusive method of hearing and capturing everyone’s views. The topic for discussion is ‘Equalities and Diversity’. Comments made will be fed into the draft Compact Code that is currently under consultation. See http://www.oxnet.org.uk/oxfordshire_compact
The Forum is open to any voluntary or community group in Oxfordshire and aims to improve communication between the voluntary, community and faith sector and the County Council, PCT and other statutory bodies, so that the voluntary sector can have an impact on the provision of services in the county both now and in the future. Please refer to the programme overleaf for full details of the event. The forum will be followed by the OCVA AGM for those groups that are members of OCVA.
