Campaigning for political change: PR and media in the new politics

NAVCA are hosting the training session PR and media in the new politics.

The new politics, a coalition government, the big society and harsh public sector spending cuts are going to change life for many charities. How will these issues affect your work using PR and the media to influence public opinion? Will you generate the same pressure on decisionmakers? What’s changed in the media and what will it change about your messaging? How will you make your mark now?
With new scrutiny on lobbying, public spending cuts and a looming Public Spending Review, and policies including the Big Society opening up charities to an ever-increasing role in public life, join colleagues and experts for round-table discussions and networking. Get the lowdown on the issues, discuss your approaches and what has to change, get breakfast into the bargain and be back at your desk by midday; refreshed, informed and networked.
Speakers include:

  • Kim Catcheside, Associate Director, Champollion, former BBC Education and social policy correspondent, Trustee of the Charity Finance Directors’ Group
  • Jo-ann Robertson, Head of Corporate Communications & Public Affairs Weber Shandwick Public Affairs - UK Consultancy of the Year, Public Affairs News 2009
