Budget Cuts: strengthening contracting relations
Now more than ever, structured and effective relationships between our sectors are imperative to the effective delivery of public services. NCVO are hosting a training seminar to bring you the latest skills and examples of managing negotiations at a critical time for cross-sector partnership.
This discursive seminar draws evidenced private-sector methodology in relationship management to address the challenges faced in public service commissioning, procurement and contract management negotiations.
With our heightening concern that cross-sector relationships within commissioning are too weak and erratic to deliver fair and effective reductions and reform in public service spending, this cross-sector seminar provides a forum for debate and aspiration ahead of the Commissioning Modernisation White Paper due in October 2010.
The seminar will provide you with:
- ACEVO’s overview of current commissioning context and challenges
- Principled approaches to Relational Contracting, including:
- Understanding cross-sector business contexts
- Transparency in negotiation
- The rule of evidence
- Case study: The Adolescent and Children’s Trust, whose adoption of Relational Contracting increased their contracted income from £13.9million to £18.1million in three years.
- Access to the three leading voluntary sector strategic bodies: ACEVO, NCVO and NAVCA
who should attend:
- Public sector commissioners and partnership managers
- Voluntary sector organisations, contracted to deliver public services
- Practice Based Commissioning consortia
- Private sector sub-contractors
This afternoon seminar will run from 2-5pm, on Monday 27th September 2010, at NCVO, London.
