NAVCA are offering an interactive training day that explores how support and development organisations, and those involved with influencing commissioning, can campaignand work for greater involvement in commissioning to improve local services.

The Office for Civil Society (OCS) has engaged LG Improvement and Development and the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) to deliver a comprehensive training programme for commissioners and finance staff throughout the public sector.

Level 2 comprises two major plenary sessions that will set the strategy of the new policy agenda and extend the role of the community, voluntary, charitable and social enterprise sectors.

There will be a series of master classes conducted by recognised experts.

OCVA have announced that the launch of their Survival Kit Initiative. This involves a series of events to address the challenges to voluntary sector groups in this difficult economic climate.

The first training event for groups is Proving the value of your work. In tough economic times it is vital that groups learn to demonstrate their effectiveness to funders. With less funding available, it will be those charities that are most able to demonstrate the value of their work who will be most able to retain funding and stay healthy.
