This course covers the whole process of video production from the initial idea through to the finished film. The course runs March 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 8th, 9th and 10th.

The completed video will be screened as part of the International Women's Week on 12th March 2010, 7pm at OFVM.

The cost is £20 for women on benefits and £150 for those working.

The Volunteer Centre and Oxford City Council have teamed up with some fantastic partners to create a volunteering and funding event to be held in Oxford’s Town Hall.

The event is being held on Tuesday 23 February from 2pm –6pm

The aim of the event is to provide a forum for all partners with a vested interest in volunteering or funding to meet and showcase their work and requirements.

Community groups and charitable organisations will be able to showcase their work and appeal for help with resources for both volunteers and funding.

Following the success of Holi and Diwali programmes, Oxford Hindu Temple and Community project presents a bigger and better HOLI - a festival of colour, with music, fun dance and food.

The event takes place on Saturday 6 March and comprises of a food court with stalls from different states of India, a henna hut, other indian stalls, hourly dance workshops for adults and children, Bhangra performance and Holi dances and music on screen to create a wonderful atmosphere.

OCVA and Oxfordshire County Council are running a ‘speed dating’ event to give  voluntary sector groups an opportunity to meet with staff in the statutory sector.

Groups will be able to learn about issues such as contracts, procurement and putting together a good tender bid. Those attending will move round tables of different themes on a ‘date’ with the relevant person, and have the chance to ask questions on each theme.

The INVOLVE South East project is organising an apprenticeship workshop on Wednesday 17th March at the Guildford YMCA.  The workshop is aimed at third sector employers with the potential to employ apprentices and to provide more information to support this.

This training opportunity aims to empower voluntary sector organisations to use the principles of the Compact and public law to negotiate effectively with public sector bodies.

NAVCA's award winning public law workshop covers sopics such as how to deal with unfair funding cuts and how to identify if a public body's decision-making processes are lawful.

The workshop is open to staff and volunteers from all third sector organisations who are funded from public bodies.
