Cherwell Community & Voluntary Service & Volunteer Bureau

Cherwell CVS functions are:
-To develop initiatives in the voluntary sector
-To provide services to local voluntary organisations
-To facilitate co-operation between voluntary bodies, local authorities and statutory agencies.
Its aims are:
-To respond to the needs of local voluntary bodies
-To act as a focus for co-ordination between statutory bodies and voluntary organisations
-To support and encourage new voluntary initiatives in the community.
We also host a driving scheme and run a furniture store.
Additionally, the CVS hosts the Volunteer Bureau which recruits & places volunteers within local voluntary organisations.
We offer a free, confidential interview to discuss individuals interests and match them to an appropriate opportunity. Volunteering is a way of gaining new skills and experience as well as a chance to try something new.
