Check point for charities
A checklist to help charities survive the recession has been published by the Charity Commission.
Aimed at trustees, the list endeavors to reflect a good practise approach that charities should use when reviewing the way they operate, especially during tough economic times.
The checklist, which comes in the form of 15 main questions, is a template that can be used by different types and sizes of groups and adapted to suit particular circumstances.
It is intended to help structure a discussion as an agenda item at a trustee meeting, away day discussion or planning meeting.
The checklist is organised into four broad areas that cover:
- Strategy - opportunities and risks
- Financial health
- Governance
- making best use of resources
